If you drive past St. Luke’s United Church of
Christ in Trappe PA on summer Wednesdays, you’ve been greeted by the Wednesday
Wavers.     

The Wednesday Wavers began over 4 years ago as
an outreach to the community.  We hold signs that say, “God loves you, St. Luke’s loves you too” as we
smile and wave to those driving by our church on Wednesday mornings. 
We wave between 7am and 7:30am from Memorial Day to the Wednesday after
Labor Day– rain or shine.   
Over the years those driving by have smiled, waved, honked – and one
van of workers even opens its windows and doors to wave and yell a greeting as
well.   
We have received notes and emails of
appreciation from people who sometimes go out of their way on Wednesday mornings
just to start their day on a “up note!”
