Centered in God, guided by His Word, we share Christ’s love with all.

Worship is central to our life together as God’s people.
Every person, no matter where you are on life's journey, will find a warm and inviting community among us.

Gracious God,
You have called us to be part of your church as members of St. Luke's United Church of Christ.  Make us a community of peacemakers and bridge-builders.  In the midst of turbulence, let our church make space for the hearing of Your still small voice.
Bless our St. Luke's family and enable us to do Your will.  Keep us one in faith and service; breaking bread together and sharing Your good news with the world for many years to come.
Amen

Missions

Emergency Clean-Up Buckets:

St. Luke’s will once again fill empty plastic buckets with cleaning supplies to help the victims of natural disasters. Given events like the recent flooding in places like KY and TX along with upcoming tropical storm season, it’s a good time to stock up and be prepared.
The Narrigans have generously agreed to donate the buckets again. Please consider designating a donation of any amount towards purchase of the supplies. The Missions team will do the shopping and packing for you! Each bucket costs about $75 to fill. There is also a $3 processing fee.
You’ll find a list of the required supplies here: Emergency Cleanup Buckets - CWS Kits
“We look at the CWS Clean Up buckets as our faithfulness. It’s our faith in action, that we pack these buckets and we send them off. We don’t know who they are going to, but we know they are going to someone. And that’s just an incredible way that the Sprit prompts us to act. And what I think is great about the buckets is that they are ready to go long before a disaster hits. So when that disaster hits we have an immediate response”
Rev. Terry Kulkuk, Executive Presbyter of the Presbytery of the Miami Valley

Ghana Initiatives

News about 2 important programs in support of St. Luke’s outreach in Ghana:
Picture
Gas cans for Ghana. Noisy Offering continues to help reach our mini-van goal.  We’ve raised about $600 to date with all the spare change in the cans.  We’ll pass the cans on the 2nd Sunday of the month but the gas cans will be out every Sunday in case you forget or are away this summer.  Those of you who Zoom or may not be in the sanctuary in person can also participate. Just use the memo line on your check so the funds can be tracked correctly.
Teacher Sponsorship. You/your family can now be a sponsor of the teachers at the St. Luke’s Day Care center. Write St. Luke’s a check for any amount and designate “Ghana teacher sponsorship” on the memo line. As of early June and halfway through 2022, we have raised $650 of the $1200 goal.  WOW-- we are more than half the way there!!  Let’s keep it going.

Noisy Offering. Our Noisy Offerings allocated for the mini-van are chugging along too. About $750 has been donated to date. Don’t forget the collection is 2nd Sunday of every month in the buckets in the sanctuary during service. Or any other Sunday in the gas cans in the Narthex. Also via mail-in check for those of you who Zoom. Thanks to everyone for your continuing support.
Our friends in Ghana are ever grateful for your continued support!

The monies will be placed in an account that at the end of the year the Council will designate where the funds will go; someone needy or to an organization that is doing good for the community.
SUGGESTION BOX

A team is being organized to seek suggestions for the following ideas:

1. Financial ideas to strengthen and or cut on budget.

2. Long Range Planning for the growth, vitality and future of St. Luke’s.

The Team is being spearheaded by Bob Keyser - all suggestions must have congregant’s name attached to
the letter and can be turned into our Suggestion Box.
Thank You.
