BRIDGE PASTOR I am Rev. Patrick W. Morris and I have been married to my wife Sharon for nearly 45 years. I have served as a pastor in the United Church of Christ since 1987. Prior to serving my first church, Sharon and I were farmers in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia near Harrisonburg. We operated a dairy, turkey, feeder lamb, and crop farm along the Shenandoah River near Elkton, VA.
I grew up in a large family. I am the sixth of 8 children. The seventh is my twin brother Mike. Church has always been an important part of my life. I was baptized as a believer when I was 13 years old in the Church of The Brethren. When Sharon and I started dating and later married, I joined her church, Friedens UCC in Mt, Crawford, Virginia.
In the fall of 1986, we left the farm as I answered the call to ordained ministry. In 1987 I served as the Licensed Pastor at Mt. Olivet UCC in Dyke, Va. That same year I received a Certificate of Biblical Studies from Eastern Mennonite Seminary. From 1987 to 1990 I completed my undergraduate degree at James Madison University. In August of 1990 I moved my family to Pennsylvania where I enrolled in the Master of Divinity program at Lancaster Theological Seminary. Following my graduation from LTS I was elected as the senior pastor at St. Paul’s UCC, Amityville where I served for nearly 18 years. I left St. Paul’s in Amityville on December 31, 2007. On January 1, 2008 I began my ministry at St. Paul’s UCC, Fleetwood. I retired on August 30, 2020.
My wife Sharon is also an ordained UCC pastor. She served as the Associate Conference Minister of the Pennsylvania Conference of the UCC, retiring in August as well. We have two children and four grandchildren. We live at 10 Christman Rd., Reading. We operate a micro farm raising chickens, ducks and goats. We also operate Stony Run Barn Quilts and Crafts from our home.
